Oral divorce is accepted under the law and as per Islam. If a man pronounce three divorces to his wife. It is called irrevocable divorce and after ninety days the divorce is confirmed. After oral divorce it is the duty of the divorce that he informs to the chairman arbitration council who will confirm after ninety days.

If the husband does not compliance the mandatory requirement of section 7(1) Muslim Family Law Ordinance 1961 and does not send any notice and does not confirm the divorce even the oral divorce is effective and binding upon the parties.

However for saving any kind of litigations and disputes it is necessary that divorce must be written and sends to wife and its copy to the arbitration council for confirmation.
